Opening a company for foreigners (citizens of the European Union and the 
European Economic Area) is the same as for citizens of the Republic of Croatia. 
This means that when establishing a company, it is necessary to pay €2,500.00 in 
share capital for a limited liability company (d.o.o.) or €1.00 in share capital for 
other type of limited liability company (j.d.o.o.). For citizens from third countries
it is only possible to open LLC (d.o.o.) with share capital of €25.000,00.
 
First of all the shareholders who are planing to open a company in Croatia they need 
to acquire tax umber (OIB number) which they can get at the tax authority office.

Secondly, when owners have their tax number they need to go to notary office to sign
social contract where all the information about the establishment of the company will
be presented. Also foreigners will have to have a court interpreter present during 
signing the declaration of incorporation. One person must be a director of the 
company while others can be prokurators or also directors of the company.

After notary office and signed and translated declaration of incorporation owners of
the company need to pay share capital at the bank. Foreigners can pay it only via 
transaction account because they don't accept cash payment for share capital. When
owners make a payment of share capital they have to present confirmation of payment
to the bank so that notary can continue with the process of opening a company at the
commercial court.

Furhermore, when the commercial court issue the decision on opening a company owners
need to fulfill extract from the register of beneficial owners and decision of the 
State Statistical Office regarding the national classification of business activities.

Finally, when all the documentation is prepared the director or prokurator can open
a Corporate business account at the bank and is ready to star doing business in 
Croatia.
